Jomsom Muktinath Trekking

$---

Jomsom and Muktinath trek in northern Nepal offers some spectacular mountain views. Jomsom trek can be a good choice for those who  wish to avoid high altitudes. A trek to Jomsom and Muktinath starts from Pokhara either take a plane to or from Jomsom to avoid backtracking but this is not worth doing. We recommend you to trek from the low land on the Kali Gandaki river. Jomsom and Muktinath trek is one of the easiest, most comfortable and certainly the most popular trek in Nepal. There is the entire route and the terrain is more varied than on any other trek of comparable length. There are howerver several side trips that take the trekker up and out of the valleys and closer to the main Himalaya. Muktinath, a Hindu and Buddhis pilgrimage site, is a day's walk north of Jomsom. Jomsom / Muktinath trek can be done throughout the year although the best season is Oct to Dec and March to April. There can be occasional snow at Ghorepani in winter (Dec - Jan) but it rarely closes the trail.

For a short trek with few altitude problems, the Annapurna region provides you with unparalleled access to spectacular horizons of Snowy peaks. A trek to ABC combines some of the most fantastic mountain scenery with a fascinating insight into the life of middle hill Nepalese. The trail takes us through an ever- changing landscape of rice fields, misty forests and lowland local villages to the glacier. It offers a fine opportunity to surround oneself with Himalayan Peaks specially witnessing the glacier basin of Annapurna Sanctuary formed by Annapurna, Machhapurchre (Fishtail, Himchuli, and Manaslu). This used to be a complicated trek due to problems with food and lodge. Now there are many new facilities between Ghandruk and Base Camp along this trail only used by trekkers. Annapurna Base Camp can be approached by at least three different routes. Here I have described one of three options.
