Kanchanjunga Trek To Gochela in Sikkim

Sikkim's most popular trek to the foot of Mt. Kangchenjunga the 3rd highest peak in the world. Trek from Yoksum to Goechela pass at 5000m/. A world of subtropical forests, rhododendron forests, alpine meadows where the hairy yak heards graze to the high valleys surrounded by glaciers and snow capped peaks of the Kanchenjunga range. A trek to one of the last remaining prestine Himalayan wilderness.

Itinerary in Detail

 

Day 01 :

Arrive at Bhadrapur Or Bagdogra Airport.
Drive up the Teesta valley to Gangtok the capital of Sikkim. Hotel Sonam Delek or Similar. (B)

Day 02 :

Gangtok town & Rumtek Monastery sightseeing. Hotel Sonam Delek or Similar. (B)

Day 03 :

Drive Gangtok to Yoksum. Visit Tashiding Monastery enroute. Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 04-05 :

Trek through dense forested valleys and hillsides to the Tibetan settlement of Tshoka. Next day continue ascending through rhododendron forests to the alpine meadows of Dzongri. Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 06 :

Day at Dzongri. Climb Dzongri Top for sunrise/sunset views.
Optional hike to Dzongri Pass and Ratong Valley. Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 07 :

Trek up the valley to Thangsing. Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 08 :

Thangsing. Morning hike to Lam Pokhiri. Afternoon trek to Lamune. Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 09 :

Trek up to near the top of Goecha La Pass. Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 10 :

Return trek from Thangsing to Tshoka. Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 11 :

Trek Tsokha to Yoksum. Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 12 :

Drive to Pelling. Visit Pemayangtse Monastery. Hotel. (B)

Day 13 :

Drive to Bagdogra or Bhadrapur Airport for departure flight. (B)

Note : Meals: B = Breakfast; L = Lunch; D= Dinner.

# Minimum 2 participants required for treks to operate.
# Participants can come in from Delhi, Calcutta (Kolkata) or Kathmandu, Nepal.
# Tours starts and ends at Bagdogra or Bhadrapur Airport or NJP Railway Station.
# Private treks are available on request for minimum of 2 persons.

Darjeeling Extension : 2 nights stay in Darjeeling with one full day jeep and walking tour of Darjeeling town, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and zooligical garden.
