Day 1 Flight from Kathmandu to Gongkar airport (arrival at 13:40 PM Chinese time), transfer to Tsetang (120 KM), rest in Hotel for Acclimatization O/N Friendship Hotel.
Day 2 Morning visit Yambulakang palace, the earliest building in Tibet, Samye Monastery. Afternoon drive to Lhasa (220 KM) Overnight at Shambala or Xungbala Hotel.
Day 3 Morning visit Potala Palace that was firstly built by Songtsen Gompo (the first Tibetan ruler) Afternoon visit Jokhang temple (the most sacred temple in Tibet) and Barkhor street.
Day 4 Morning visit Drepung monastery that is about 8 KM west from Lhasa. Drepung means " rice - mound", was founded in 1416 by Jamyang Choje Tashi Palden. Afternoon visit Sera monastery (one of the three great Gelukpa monasteries near Lhasa).
Day 5 Early morning transfer to the Gongkar airport (100 KM) and fly to KTM.

Itinerary in Detail

Day 1 Fly to Lhasa airport and transfer 60km to the hotel, drive through 1 hour to Yerlung Tsangpo and Lhasa river. Afternoon visit this is the holiest shrine in Tibet with houses of golden statues of the Shakyamuni Budhha, brought to Tibet by the Chinese princess Wenchen.
Day 2 Morning visit Potala palace, the seat of both religion and politics in Tibet. It was built in the 7th century by Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo and later renovated by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. Afternoon visit Sera monastery, 5 km north of Lhasa city. It was built in 1419 by Jamchen Choeji, a disciple of Tsongkhapa, founder of the Gelugpa sect. Sera is one of the three major monasteries of the yellow sect in Tibet. and visit Tibet Museum.
Day 3 - 8 On trek.
Day 4 Lhasa - Xigatse 280km Drive to Xigatse via Yarlong Tsangpo river gorge, it takes 4hours, Afternoon visiting Tashilunpo Monastery including the Market of Xigatse. O/n Hotel.
Day 5 Xigatse - Gyantse (3950m) - 90km = Drive to Gyantse which takes 2 hrs. Gyantse is small bustling town steeped in history. It lies 260 km Southwest of Lhasa on the northern bank of Nyangchu river. In the 15th. Century is served as the Capital of a small Kingdom. Visit Kumbum Stupa & Pelchu Monastery which was built around 1400 AD It later became the main center for trade with British / India. Overnight hotel.
Day 5 Gyantse - Tsedang (3600M) - 3500km Drivedrive takes 8 hrs you to Tsedang crossing the Karola pass (5010m) and Kampala pass (4794m). The Karola climbs between two lofty mountains, Nochen Kangsang (7223m) and Ralung (6236m) while driving you will see the Yamdrok Tso (Truquoise Lake) which takes approx. 1hr to cross around. After passing Kambala, Lhasa Valley is seen to the north. Reaching Tsedang and check in hotel.
Day 5 Drive to Samye Monastery. It takes 1 hour through the Yarlung Tsangpo River via visiting Samye Villay. and afternoon visit Yumbulakhang palace, that is the earliest Buddhist Temple in Tibet. and Tradruk temple which is located 15 kilometers from the center of Tsedang. O/n Tsedang hotel.
Day 5 Drive to Lhasa airport for next destination.

Mt. Kailash & Lake Manasarovar 14 Days 47 km. - - - Spring & Autumn

This is for those who only want the south west of Tibet - no time is devoted to Lhasa on this trip. Complete a kora around Mount Kailash plus a stay of two nights at the side of Lake Manasarovar with many pray. This itinerary provides the chance to circumambulate the single most sacred place on earth and is best suited to those on a pilgrimage. The trip is open to all, it does not matter what your beliefs are, as long as you respect other beings.

On this trip, we drive from Kathmandu to the Tibet border at Zhangmu. Then drive across the wide open spaces of the Tibet Plateau to Lake Manasarovar and Mt Kailash. From there we retrace our route to Kathmandu, enjoying once again the arid beauty of the vast plains. This is truly the trip of a lifetime (except for those who repeat it each year, Hi Greg) with its stunning scenery and cultural highlights. You need to be conditioned to hard hiking / trekking over a number of days. Although we make it as easier by providing yaks to carry your main baggage while trekking. And for your safety we provide a portable compression chamber and a supply of oxygen to treat altitude sickness.

Lhasa - Mt. Kailash Tour 23 Days 35 km. - - - Spring & Autumn

A pilgrimage to Mt. sh the sacred mountain of Tibet is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. Mt Kaliash is the source of four great asian rivers. For Hindus it is the throne of Shiva, for Buddhists, a gigantic natural Mandala. Also the epicenter of Tantric forces for both religions. This trek takes you from the far western town of Simikot, along an old trade route into Tibet. An arid, wild, country dominated by the peaks of Api and Saipal Himal, this is the world of the Nepalese and Tibetan traders. You will encounter travelers with horses and yaks laden with goods. After a few days trek on the Nepal side we take you to Tibetan border market Purang where Nepalese, Tibetan and Indian traders meet to exchange wares. The highlight of the trip is to visit Rakshastal (Devil Lake), the holy Lake of Mansarovar, "born from the mind of Bramha", trek around the Mt. Kailash and visit the former Gu-ge kingdom with its two main centres of Toling and Tsaparang.

Day 1 Namtso Lake –Yangbajing - Lhasa, 80 km north of Lhasa, is famous for its hot springs, it was said that long time ago, before the sky and the earth was separated. The whole world was in total darkness. People living at the foot of Mt. Nianqingtanggula were suffering. One day, a golden phoenix to flied to the area. determined to create brightness by sacrificing itself. it threw one of its bright eyes onto the ground. A fairy caught the eye. and then a bright lamp arose in the air. Snow capped peaks of Mt. Nianqingtanggula appeared. Grassland like huge carpet emerged. Happiness came into Tibetan people. However, greedy man near Yangbajing coveted the lamp. He took a witch man’s idea to sharpen his hatred into an arrow to shoot the lamp. The lamp was broken then. The pieces of the lamp dropped onto the ground, turning into hot spring and burned the man to his end. People said that the hot springs were the fairy’s tears.
