incessant conflict scared off tourists from visiting
Nepal and we are feeling the pinch of the fall in
tourist arrivals. There was a time when we recorded such
a huge flow of tourists that we used to turn back some.

Upon
arrival in Nepal you will stop for 3 nights in
Kathmandu for visas preparation and your time
will be utilized visiting the great open museum
(the amazing Kathmandu valley). Then you will
depart for Lhasa on China South-West Airlines
with the great views

we have written above that to accomplish all the
trekkings in Tibet, we must drive or fly from
Kathmandu to Tibetan land first. Hence this trip
begins with drive through the Friendship Highway
to Lhasa or directly flight. As far you have

trip starts with drive from Kathmandu through
the friendship bridge. After completion of the
immigration formalities at Zhangmu we drive to
Nyalam, the first night. Next day we continue
drive to Old Tingri and start trekking to North
Everest Base Camp.

Mt Kaliash is the source of four great asian
rivers. For Hindus it is the throne of Shiva,
for Buddhists, a gigantic natural Mandala. Also

Kailash is striking because of the way it rises
high above the surrounding mountain range and
remains snow-capped all year long. The
mountain's Tibetan name is, "Gang Rinpoche,"

focal point for the preservation of Buddhism in
Tibet until the 17th century. After the
assassination of King Lang Darma in 842 by his
own brother, the Buddhism in Tibet was
completely snuffed out for nearly 100 years.
