The Langtang Valley is a beautiful alpine region to the North of Kathmandu bordering Tibet. The Langtang trek offers the greatest diversity with the least effort of Any trek in Nepal. There is a series of north- south running valleys that provide a variety of possible trekking routes. The Gosainkund and Helambu regions lie to its south; these can be combined with Langtang to make treks from 7 days to 21 days. The area was designated Nepal's first Himalayan National Park in 1971, it is inhabited by Tamang people whose religious practices, language and dress are much more similar to those of Tibet than to the traditions of their cousins in the middle hills.
